(Vietnam Fisheries) – The initial success of hatchery and grow-yellowfin pomfret (Trachinotus blochii) in our country in recent years has opened up new directions in the diversification effect of farmed results.
Success from research to practice
After the project entered the production technology of artificial fish yellowfin white birds in Vietnam was successfully implemented, many localities throughout the country collaborated to disseminate research fish of high economic value of this.
In 2010, South Central seafood varieties in collaboration with The College of Fisheries Bac Ninh successful seed production pomfret yellowfin. The seed is then put into the farming district of Giao Thuy, Nghia Hung (Nam Dinh). After a period of 4-6 months, the commercial fish weigh from 0.6 to 0.7 kg. After 2 years, the white bird model yellow fin fish in Nam Dinh are highly efficient compared to other cultured species, the average interest on less than 300 million VND / ha.

Some provinces such as Quang Ninh, Nghe An has also launched several model white bird yellow fin fish farming in cages, ponds and high results and are continuing to expand.
Central province of Khanh Hoa is the leading test pomfret breeding and research yellowfin grow. Subject “Test fish breeding birds yellowfin (Trachinotus blochii Lacepede, 1801) in Khanh Hoa,” by Dr. Lai Van Hung (Nha Trang University) as Chairman, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Council has been chaired Provincial Science and Technology at satisfactory test of excellence.
Currently, hatchery techniques, particularly the construction of commercial farming by the food industry are being studied and will improve technology transfer to farmers in the locality.
Effective direction
Most farming showed white pomfret yellowfin have very fast growth, can grow in brackish water environments, salt forms, such as mesh cage or in earthen ponds. Fewer fish, but poor cold tolerance, having a cold fish may stop eating and die.
